Attending the Forum on Education Abroad’s Annual Conference 2025 in Toronto was an incredibly energizing experience. There’s something truly special about gathering with professionals who are just as passionate about global learning as I am.

Reconnecting & Building New Relationships: One of the biggest highlights for me was reconnecting with many of our valued university partners. These face-to-face conversations reminded me how much we can accomplish when we share ideas and collaborate toward common goals. I also had the opportunity to meet new colleagues —each bringing fresh perspectives and new opportunities for partnership. The power of connection in this field can't be overstated.

Staying Current with Emerging Trends: The sessions were rich with insight. From exploring the role of AI in education abroad to discussions on sustainability and access, it was clear that our field is evolving rapidly. I left with a renewed understanding of the trends shaping international education today—and how we can adapt to better serve students and institutions alike.

Some of the most impactful moments came from the conversations happening between sessions—in hallways, over coffee, and during workshops. Discussing current challenges, sharing best practices, and even diving into “H.O.T.” topics reminded me how valuable these dialogues are for both personal growth and professional innovation.

As I reflect on my time in Toronto, I’m grateful not only for what I learned but for the sense of community I felt throughout the event. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by people dedicated to making education abroad more inclusive, intentional, and impactful.
